Hina Oikawa “Short Songs” is a project combining Japanese tanka poetry with jazz. Led by saxophonist and composer Hina Oikawa, the performance features a large jazz ensemble playing original music inspired by the beauty and emotions of traditional poetry. This unique blend of words and music offers a fresh and moving experience for the audience.

Erez Aviram Ensemble
Erez Aviram is an eclectic composer residing in Park Slope, Brooklyn. After performances at the Rochester Jazz Festival and Chamber Music America’s Showcase in Times Square, Erez brings his eight piece ensemble back to his neighborhood to play music that was described as “jazz improvisation, orchestral sweep, funk beats, and well-measured seasonings from a wide range of traditions.” (Chamber Music Magazine 2024).

Delicious Bass NYC
The Plattsburgh Clarinet Choir will be joined by NYC group Delicious Bass for an afternoon of New Music for Clarinets.
We will be premiering and revisiting works composed and arranged by our dear friends Jon Russell, Ian Deterling, Owen Davitt, Tyler Mazone, Dalton Regnier, Nicholas Chesemore, Tiana Molina, John Centenaro, Alex Malin, Jonah Ward, and the one and only Bret Newton.
Please note that there will be an octo-contra-alto clarinet there. Consider yourself warned.
Taste of Sunnyside
Taste of Sunnyside will return to Queens for its 14th year on Sunday, October 13th, featuring over 50 local restaurants and a block party on 46th Street between Queens Boulevard and Greenpoint Avenue. This annual neighborhood fest will include live music, a local artists exhibition, family-friendly activities, and the opportunity to walk around the community while sampling bites throughout from Sunnyside's top eateries.

Led by Elijah J. Thomas, Criss Cross is a free floating ensemble of various sonic, aesthetic, and lived experiences in the tradition of forerunner musician T. Monk and his tune after which the project is named.
